FOTD: Dauntless – Inspiration from Veronica Roth’s Divergent Triology

I enjoy reading more than doing pretty much anything else, especially books. I also take a whole world of inspiration from the books I read. Especially, perhaps unsurprisingly, when it comes to makeup. I have a vivid imagination (not always a good thing, my dreams are never tame) and get very clear pictures of the characters and setting in my mind. Not just that though, with a good book, I am fully transported into that world. I live, eat and breathe the story. I can’t get it out of my head, it is all I can think or dream about. I want to be part of the story, by recreating the looks my brain thinks up – I can in some way manage that.

The latest books I have been loving are the Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth, which I have reviewed recently. This look is inspired by Tris’ move to the Dauntless faction. I gave myself a faux nose piercing (which I love, so tempted to have it actually done) and went with a super kohl-ed up look, still keeping the rest relatively natural and un-sophisticated as Tris is 16 years old in Divergent.

What do you think? If you’ve read the Divergent trilogy how did you imagine Tris looking? It definitely isn’t my usual look but I really enjoyed it, so much so I’ve worn black liner in my waterline on several occasions now. The power of trying something new…
