Bites of almondy-loveliness. I adore macarons, this I blame entirely on my mum, who loves them more than anything else. They are gooey-crunchy bites that are pretty much just perfection. They are also super quick and easy to make (in my opinion).
To make these, for each egg white you use, put in 85g or ground almonds, 85g caster sugar and half a tsp of almond extract. This will make 12 small macaroons.
You whip the egg white with a fork till frothy, then add the other ingredients and mix into a paste.
Make little balls using 2 teaspoons then roll the balls between you palms.
Place onto a baking tray with a sheet of baking papers on it and press half a blanched almond into the top.
Put in a preheated oven (180C) for 15-20 minutes till a pale golden colour. Take out and leave to cool on a wire rack.
So, pretty simple!
